More on Geeks…

Sure, some geeks eventually make something of themselves with knowledge and passions, but many can never overcome their social problems enough to succeed in any field. Many, while they may like geeky things with associated careers (e.g. programming, math, science), aren’t actually very good at them.

Liking an expensive and materialistic piece of technology does not make one a nerd. Enjoying an obscure band that sings about random shit like ice cream and unicorns does not a dork make. Playing World of Warcraft, knowing the entire plot of every anime series released in the last ten years, being socially awkward, programming software for a living, talking about Linux over dinner, and playing D&D is what makes a nerd…

Indulging in a fatty meal after studying for an exam could boost your results. A study in rats shows that eating a certain type of fat produces a hormone that helps the brain cement short-term memories into long-term ones.
